Sonoran Trails counselor honored by Arizona School Counselors Association
PHOENIX – Sonoran Trails Middle School counselor Cadi Angeli has been named the Arizona School Counselors Association ‘Counselor of the Year.’ She will be recognized at the AzSCA spring conference, to be held March 7-8.
Cave Creek Unified School District Student Support Administrator Gina Durbin described Angeli as “an amazing counselor.”
“Her program focuses on academic, personal/social, and career development of all students through small groups, individual meetings, guidance curriculum, and parent involvement,” Durbin said. “Overall, Cadi makes it her priority to do her best to be responsive to all of her schools’ needs. She has the personality, the formal education, the commitment to working with our youth, and that “hard work” ethic that characterizes exemplary counselors.”
Angeli has been a Sonoran Trails counselor for 15 years and is an integral part of the school community by leading and advocating for all student success. Katie Cotner, STMS counselor, said, “Working with Cadi each and every day, I am well equipped to say that she is most deserving! She is an amazing role model for me and an incredible friend!”
“In 2013, Angeli led a team of counselors to receive the Recognized American School Counselor Association Model Award (RAMP),” AzSCA reported in a release. “This award is given to school counseling programs that demonstrate excelling student services components such as goals, curriculum data reports, student data initiatives, administration support, time management, advocacy, and leadership.”
Bill Dolezal, STMS principal, said, “Sonoran Trails is a great place to be for students, parents, and staff because of the time, energy, and professionalism Cadi Angeli provides in the counseling department.”
